Team Sports

So, the last few weeks have been quite busy for us. Foster started soccer, and Maya started swim team all within the same week. Between games and three times a week practices, my mom-mobile has been running all over town. I have even had to enroll Jon's junk-mobile to help me divide and conquer the many practices that often occur at the same time.
Here is Foster "assuming the position." He is getting to be a pretty good goalie, but, let's be honest. What makes him fit for this gig is his sheer size. We had to submit his birth certificate to prove that he really is only seven. 5'10" mom + 6'2" dad= a soccer star.
The cheerleaders:
This is where Ella can be found at every single game. Thank goodness for bleachers. They make an excellent jungle gym.

Maya enduring to the end. It was FREEZING this day. (Of course, to all of our "Northern" friends, I realize that this is completely relative.)

Enjoying a post-game beverage.

Their team name is aptly "The Beast."

Here is our swimming girl. I only uploaded one pic of her doing her thing because the picture quality was not good. She has practice three times a week and is LOVING it! We are waiting for a meet that is not on Sunday and she will be ready.

How fun! Don't you love sporting? My boys have their last basketball games this Saturday. I'm ready for a break! :)

So fun! It's exhausting getting the kids to all their activities but it keeps them off the streets!

That is way too fun :) Okay, did you seriously have to submit his birth certificate? Because that's REALLY funny!

How exciting and fun. We decided Soccer wasnt for cole, everytime he knocked someone down to get the ball he would stop what he was doing to help them up and ask if they were ok.

A: I seriously don't know how you do it with four! I can't imagine the gas consumption you must have...

V: Anything to keep my seven and eight year old from joining a street gang and getting all hopped up on dope.

C: Yes...but so did everyone else.

D: Foster has a very non-aggressive approach to soccer. Typically he likes to keep a good ten feet between him and the ball. Which is why the coach made him the goalie. He is now forced to make contact with it.

What organization do your kids play through? Hilton wants to do martial arts... I like soccer better... maybe next year. I'm worried about the gangs and dope too! hehe

I can't believe how old everyone is looking. Maya looks more like a little lady than a little girl!

I always thought that I would encourage our kids to play, but after t-ball twice a week last year I'm like family time is good :)

Jenny: LYSA is the org. I will let you know when they have fall sign-up. The only problem is that they do have some Sunday games. Foster's coach just knows that he won't be able to go to those.

Jayme: I TOTALLY get that. In fact, soccer season ends in about two weeks, at which time, I am putting Foster in swim team with Maya. They will be at the same level and so they will go at the same time. Still run-around, but at least it is a two-fer.
